Decimal hours
This is the one that costs people money. Eight hours and thirty-five minutes is 8.58 hours in decimal, not 8.35. Minutes are sixtieths, so they have to be divided by sixty rather than simply written after the point. An invoice built on the wrong conversion is out by a noticeable amount over a month.
Shifts that cross midnight
A shift starting at 22:00 and ending at 06:00 is eight hours. Entering the times in that order is handled correctly here, because a finishing time earlier than the starting time is treated as the following day.
