The approved rates

For the 2026-27 tax year the approved mileage allowance payment is 55p a mile for the first 10,000 business miles in a car or van and 25p a mile after that. Motorcycles are 24p and bicycles 20p. Before 6th April 2026 the car rate was 45p. Journeys between home and your normal workplace do not count as business miles.
